And Yet ...

And Yet ...
and yet we are in touch through our artwork...
perhaps a more eternal and more important touch
than flesh to flesh.
For somehow it is our destiny legacy.
Yes?
No one could fathom
this but our God.
Every brush stroke of pain,
every pained tooth and driven nail,
every stubbed toe and stumble,
every bit of dirt eaten and
bit of bile regurgitated,
has lead to this excruciating beauty...
tell me true
are you pleased?
this plastic world
of poetry
is the closest
thing and deepest means
of intimacy
from across the ocean
that as a woman artist
i may have with you
tell me true
does my pen
stroke you well?
does my punctuation
cause your manhood
to raise him self
with a sense of power
do my metaphors
meet your souls need
to reign?
do my similes
lead you to a point
of no return
giving you release
and a full rest
so that after a
shared cigarette
and a written interlude
wait
you are ready to be
poemed
again?
