today I missed you so much
all I could do was
sit in my car and whimper

in front of an empty plate
as the pot boiled over on the stove

that I put the keys in the
refrigerator

I drove right passed
home

i went shopping
and didn't buy anything

i went to the movies
and just sat in the parking lot
then I went to the mall
and didn't get out of the car

today i missed you so much
i'm not sure what today is

i wouldn't go out of the house

i gave away the cats.

last night i missed you so much
i listened to the crickets
play all night long

last night i missed you so much
i walked from room to room to room
all night long

i just watched the bathtub fill up

i just clicked the tv channels
back and forth

i stared up at the ceiling staring
down at me

i pulled the cover over my head
and listened to myself breathe

i went and got gas at the all night store and
forgot to put my teeth in
so i drove home on empty
and went back into my
empty home and walked
into every room and i
meowed like the cats
i gave away.
because tomorrow
i know
i'm gonna miss you so much.
