i thought about our
first meeting
and what i would want...
us
to just be together
side by side
close
in each others space
without touching
not speaking
not saying even one
word
and going for a long walk
having a meal together
us
still not talking
taking in some artistic
force of nature
or theatre or museum
us
being out among people
speaking to others
but
not to each other
then on the 24th
hour of that first meeting
touching palm to palm
lip to lip
and saying
for the first time
hello
no more
no less
just
us
after 24 beautiful
silent hours
saying
